Real people, telling it in their own words
DevilBoy Productions is a London video production company founded in 2011 by producer Nigel Camp, filming events and conferences, corporate documentaries and customer-story films for brands and for agencies.
We make documentary-style films for businesses and organisations: films built around real people, interviews and what actually happens on the day, rather than a script read to camera. They work when a subject needs more room than a promotional video gives it, such as a change in how a sector works, a project with a story behind it, or a team doing something worth showing properly. For shorter customer-story films, see case study and testimonial videos.
Over those years we have filmed corporate films, live events, documentaries and wildlife. Documentary draws on all of it: patience with people who have never been filmed before, an eye for the moment you couldn’t have scripted, and an edit that gives the story room. We work with some of the most talented people in the industry, and the team scales to the size of the project, from a compact crew to a full team.
The Youth Rise in Power

Format: three-part series. Our role: producer, director and camera operator, with all editing done in-house. We planned and scheduled every shoot and coordinated a partner crew for the California filming. Simone Jo Moore worked through the interview transcripts.
Experience IT

Atlantic Forest, for Kew Gardens

From the street and the kitchen
Documentary starts with watching closely.

Wildlife and nature filming, in the UK and abroad
We produce wildlife and nature films as part of our documentary work, for brands, charities and agencies that want their story told outdoors. We’ve spent time in Africa and the Caribbean making micro-documentaries, and filmed across Europe and all over the UK. That work teaches you to plan around light, weather and animals that won’t take direction, and to keep a small crew moving quietly. DevilBoy is run like a boutique agency, so the crew is sized to the location. Tell us where you want to film and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.

How a documentary project runs
We start with a call about what the film needs to say and who it is for. We research the subject, find and brief the right people, and plan interviews and observed filming around their time. Many contributors have never been on camera, so we take time to put them at ease. In the edit, we build the story from what people actually said, and you get three rounds of changes. Most of our corporate documentary work is confidential, so if you’d like to see something closer to your brief, ask on a call.
